Photo Club

In addition to the photo-a-day personal challenge, Liz and I also started a Photo Club to inspire more photo-taking and skill-improving.

Q: So, Photo Club is just the two of you playing with your cameras in the same place?
A: Yes.

I love clubs. Naming something a "club" or "project" instantly creates structure and accountability in a way that "new hobby" doesn't.

For our first meeting we tromped around in the slushy grass, and then rewarded ourselves with cheeseburgers and smoothies at Burgerville. The theme was, "let's drive somewhere not too far away how about Cathedral Park the bridge might be interesting".

And because it is a legit club, Photo Club also has rules. I let Liz write the rules, because I knew it would instantly sell her on the whole idea.

Unofficial rules are that we meet monthly and alternate picking the theme/destination. But we've only have the one meeting, so the format is still in its development stages. February theme is "Lincoln's Birthday." Destination TBD. So far, I like where this is going.
